About Chris

Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, Chris’ journey in the trades started in high school. Beginning in the summer breaks, he worked with his uncles who owned a painting and restoration company. During the first few years, he learned the painting business well while maturing along the way.

After graduating high school and unsure of his future, Chris spent a gap year working full time as a painter. He honed his trade in both interior and exterior painting, while furthering his understanding of the business side. During this time, his knowledge of the restoration side of the business was overhauled. He learned how to patch and fix concrete, learned about fixing or replacing drywall, how to drive the large machinery and more.

A few years later, after some time in Langara College and some time spent travelling across Europe, Chris discovered a different side of the trades. He spent some time working as an exterior cleaner of both residential and commercial buildings. This helped develop his skill set such as repairing gutters and downspouts, while increasing his knowledge about the workings of these buildings, more so the commercial buildings. During this time, Chris also interacted with and began to build a relationship with the property managers which has continued to grow since then.

A little over a year later, Chris decided it was time to strike out on his own. In June 2022, Hopkins Restoration was created. Relying on the information and knowledge previously acquired he hit the ground running. From even the smallest of projects to a full makeover, everything is an opportunity to mold the things around you to what you desire.
